New Technique and Challenge!

Friday, June 1st, 2012

Happy JUNE 1st everyone! It’s Shari here with a day packed full of great stuff. First I’d like to announce our June Challenge.

What a great theme to kick off summer, don’t you think?  All the details of this month’s Challenge can be found HERE!

I’m thrilled to bring you the June technique today. I had a ton of fun with this one… it was one of those light bulb in the middle of the night ideas…haha. Let me introduce you to Dry Embossing with Die Cuts!  This first card uses the Watercolor Petals clear set CL431 and matching Digital Die Cuts.

Here is another card with a bit of a masculine twist using the Wish You were Here clear set CL480 with it’s matching Die Cuts.

Instructions and supplies for both cards can be found HERE.

And now for the nuts and bolts of the technique…. a video just for you!

Have you been following our My Monthly Hero stamp releases?  Each month we come out with a set of stamps based around a monthly theme.  This month is Thinking of You.  New stamps for June MMH are now available in our online store, including 4 new stamps from Studio Calico and two clear sets from Hero Arts!

You can also find these stamps at participating local stamp stores. Find a list of stores right HERE. When you order these new stamps in our online store, these participating stores will fulfill your order. So whether you make your purchase online or in-store, you’re supporting local businesses!

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope you have a great week-end!!!

Add Your Message Kits - Blossom Design

Friday, March 30th, 2012

Hi all! Kristina here again for my final post as guest blogger for the week. It’s been a pleasure sharing some ideas with you! :)

For today’s card I started out with the basic card from the Add Your Message Blossom Design Card Kit.

To step up the card, I used the printed card as “patterned paper” and created a new card. I also used one of the sentiment stamps from the kit.

Cards by Kristina Werner. Find complete supplies and instructions here.

I hope that gave you some ideas for how to stretch the kits. It’s definitely fun to see how I can change the card from the original.  :)

To wrap up the week, I am happy to be able to  announce the second $50 Wish List Shopping Spree winner of the month. Congratulations to Barbara Lassiter who was randomly picked for her February 20 comment on the blog! Barbara, please contact us at to claim your prize.

Until next time, happy crafting!

2010 Catalog Blinkie Contest!

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

We’re having a new blinkie contest! To win a great prize package featuring a 2010 Catalog and NEW 2010 stamps, add either of these two blinkies to your blog by Thursday, December 10th at 11:59 PM PST and leave a comment on THIS POST. The lucky random winner will be announced on Friday, December 11th. The first blinkie is this snazzy little number featuring the first five 2010 Catalog sneak peeks:

Love them! Here’s the URL to link it to:

Next, did you know that you’re invited to a 2010 Catalog Preview Party, December 18-20th? Yep, it’s true! Click HERE to find a store near you, then invite all your friends with this fun blinkie:

Here’s the URL to link it to:

Here’s some tips on adding a blinkie to your blog:

Instructions for WordPress

There’s a great article for adding images to your blog sidebar right HERE.

Instructions for Typepad

Typepad has an article for how to do this HERE. Just follow along, and change the “.jpg” to “.gif”.

Instructions for Blogger

Blogger has an article that covers how to add lots of nifty things to your blog sidebar, including images, right HERE. Follow the instructions for adding an element and then select “Picture.” Note that you will have to upload the image to Photobucket or a similar service, as blogger does not accept gifs.

Image too wide?

If the image is too wide, you can change the width in the <img> tag by adding

where “123″ is the width that you would like. So it would look like

<img width=”123″ src =”blinkie goes here” />

Need some help? Post your Q’s over HERE on the Hero Flickr Group — there’s a great thread going on with lots of questions already answered — thanks so much everyone — BIG hugs.  If you’ve never been to our group before, grab a cup of cocoa and stay awhile — there’s so many fabulous creations, and a super fun community of stampers!

Can’t wait to see the blinkies on your blog, so be sure to leave a link!
