Social Club bids farewell to Summer…

Friday, October 4th, 2013

Hello, and welcome to Social Club. Those of us living in the Northern hemisphere are currently bidding farewell to the summer and welcoming autumn - it’s time to dig out the winter woolens, find the rubber boots and make some hot chocolate. So today we thought we’d say a proper goodbye to the summer sun by showcasing some beautiful cards from our Flickr friends that celebrate the beauty of summer flowers.

Our first card today is by llwillson1. We adore the way she has stamped our Garden Bouquet with watercolors, and her use of white space draws the eye perfectly to the stunning floral focal point.

Next, barbghig with her pretty-in-pink ‘Thinking of You’ card. Our Hand Drawn Small Flower has been stamped on vellum which adds such a soft and elegant feel, a perfect match to the sentiment.

And finally, paperpicnic (Jayne), with this elegant and inky creation. We think our Dogwood is the perfect match to the stamp from our Best Mom Ever set - after all, what mother doesn’t love a beautiful floral creation?

Ladies - your cards are wonderful, and we’d like to thank you for sharing them with us by rewarding you with one of our brand new digikits - Chalkboard Christmas. Time to get ready for the next season now! :)

Winners, please send an email to and we will email you your digikit.

Social Club will be back soon, and until then we wish you happy and inky fun!

Junior De Artist

Friday, July 12th, 2013

Happy Friday! Today we’re excited to share another wonderful store with you. This time we’re going on an international trip, visiting Junior De Artist in Singapore! The store’s owner, Mr. Freddy Yip, has been a longtime friend of Hero Arts. Here’s some information from Christin, a member of the Junior De Artist team:

I’m Christin as part of Junior De Artist Team along with Wendy, Agnes and Normah who are our in-house instructors. Our in-house instructors conduct workshops almost every day in our store. Wonderful displays of their craft works can be found in store. More information on our workshops can be found on the Junior De Artist website.

We are a small, humble craft store based in a small country, Singapore, and we are proud to be a Hero Arts exclusive distributor. We have been actively involved in Hero Arts programs & promotions. We’re always active in organizing our Hero Arts Preview Party every year without fail, just to bring more people closer to Hero Arts.

Junior de Artist is conceptualised and established by founder, Freddy Yip in year 2000. This year will be our 13th year and we are so excited! Over the years, Junior de Artist matured from original concept of “something for the little ones” to something for everyone carrying products for people of all ages and from walks of life. JDA carries a large range of craft products all over the world to meet the needs of crafters!

The Junior De Artist team shared a few wonderful cards with us today, featuring lots of product from the Stamp Your Story catalog.

Caption Fun.

Friday, May 31st, 2013

Hello. It’s Lucy here today with some great news about the Hero Arts digital lines. Did you know that we are launching a new line of digital products, available to download right here in our own shop. Not only will we be bringing back some old classics, like the Caption Art kit I used on today’s card, but we will have brand new offerings each month too! Such fun!

So, today I have a card to share that features the Caption Art kit. It was actually inspired by the fun preview of the kit - all those cute speech bubbles side by side got me thinking…

Find out how to make this card. Click here for full supplies and instructions.

I just love finding inspiration in product packaging.

That’s all for today, I hope you have a great weekend.

Earlier this week our very own Tami Hartley celebrated a birthday! You all know Tami from her Tweets and Facebook posts for Hero Arts, her active role in the Hero Arts Flickr Group, and the beautiful cards she shares here on the blog. Tami is such a wonderful friend and colleague. She keeps us all in line & keeps this blog running like clockwork. Stamp Your Story Blog Hop…With Prizes!

Friday, May 3rd, 2013

On Wednesday we unveiled the new Stamp Your Story catalog and contest and today…we HOP! That’s right, six Hero Arts designers have joined forces today to celebrate the new release and get the creative juices flowing.

Here to kick things off is Sally Traidman!

Sally: “Hello everyone on this creative, wonderful Friday. I am bringing you MY story for today’s first stop of the blog hop. I LOVE bright colors and circles, so I got this idea to create the circle paint splotch from Texture and Shape stamped in many colors, with little designs stamped on top. Can you recognize some of the designs from Not Perfect? As for the message - an instructor of mine used those words in a quote, so I added them since they were the inspiration for the card.”

Find out how to make this card — click for complete supplies and instructions.

Every blog hop needs a fabulous prize, right? We think so! We’ve put together an assortment of new Stamp Your Story items to give away. Feast your eyes…

The lucky winner will be drawn at random from ALL of the comments received on all of the blog hop stops and announced on Friday, May 10th. Be sure to comment here and on all of the designers’ blogs to increase your chances of winning!

The Stamp Your Story products you’ll see featured today have begun shipping to local stamp stores and will be available in the Hero Arts Online Store starting May 15th.

Now that we have the details out of the way, let’s get hopping! Today we invite you to venture to the blogs of…

Watercolor Daisy

Friday, April 12th, 2013

Hello, and a very happy Friday. It’s Lucy here, and today I have a floral card to share with you that fits in with our Just For Her theme for April.  I made this card for my mother-in-law, who just loves yellow flowers. I used the pretty Etched Daisy stamp, and colored it with my new Inktense watercolor pencils which I washed over with water mixed with Perfect Pearls. I love the vibrancy the Inktense pencils create. When you color with them they look pretty normal, but as soon as you add water… wow!

Find out how to make this card — click  for complete supplies and instructions.

And for a fun effect, I spritzed the background with the left over yellowy water from my painting. It coordinates beautifully with the daisy and is really shimmery.

That’s all from me, but check back later today for a sneak peek at our new catalog! Hooray for sneak peeks!

A touch of gold + a sneak peek!

Friday, April 5th, 2013

Gold. It’s back in a big way — in fashion, accessories, home decor, and crafting too. So today I thought I’d bring my jar of gold embossing powder out of hiding and put it to use on a Mother’s Day card, to go along with our “Just For Her” challenge theme this month. Mother’s Day is May 12th this year but it’s never too early to start planning those cards!

Find out how to make this card — click for complete supplies and instructions.

I heat embossed the new Scripted Mother’s Day message in gold onto Eggshell paper and also added a bit of gold embossed Looped Circle Pattern to the bottom edge of the card. Die cut Flourishes and a Jeweled Flower finish it off. With a simple change of sentiment, I think this design could even work as a wedding or anniversary card…what do you think?

Now we’re going to shift gears for a little Friday surprise! I’m so excited about what I get to show you next. It’s a sneak peek (the very first one!) from our upcoming catalog, which will be revealed in full on May 1. How’s this for FUN…!?

This awesome new collection of stamps will help you express your style, tell your story, and have tons of fun in the process. We can’t wait to share more about it in the weeks ahead! Look for sneak peeks throughout the month, leading up to the May 1 release.

Happy, happy weekend everyone! Enjoy it! :)

A Springy Hello

Friday, March 29th, 2013

Hello and TGIF everyone! Since every day here in the desert of sunny southern California is like spring (only hotter!), I am always in flower mode. Right now the heavenly smell of orange and lemon blossoms are filling the air! And they inspired me to stamp this card.

Find out how to make this card — click for complete supplies and instructions.

I love the gorgeous, subtle background you can create just by stamping Everything Flower tone on tone. Just Saying Hello is a message I pull out of my stash often, as I like to send cards simply to let a friend know I’m thinking of them. The beautiful leaf ribbon from May Arts makes a lovely stem for the Scalloped Flower stamp. And I mounted it all on a Snow Folded Card to “crisp it up”.

I have some good news before I go! A new month begins on Monday, so that means today we get to announce our two $50 Wish List Shopping Spree Winners, randomly chosen from all of the blog comments we received last month.

  • Sherri Q with her comment on February 1: I really like the mostly neutral card with just a hint of soft color. Very striking.
  • Jennifer Seubert with her comment on February 8: Such a cute card, Tami!  Chocolate with peanut- butter!  YUM!!!!

Congratulations, Sherri and Jennifer! Please email us at the winner’s address located over in the sidebar and we’ll get you all set up to shop. For a chance to win one of next month’s shopping sprees, simply join the Hero Club (it’s free!), then comment here on the blog throughout the month. Each comment you leave gives you a chance at the prize!

Happy Easter weekend everyone! Eat a piece of dark chocolate for me!!
