Hello Butterfly

Hi everyone, it’s Kelly here. There are so many different mediums out there that you can use to achieve a watercolor look, but for my card today I’m using Hero Arts Ink Daubers.

I created a palette of color on my craft sheet using Lemon Yellow, Orange Soda, Dark Quartz and Ultra Pink Daubers. Then I spritzed the colors with some water and started painting my background onto watercolor paper. You can create more depth by drying areas of your background with a heat tool and then applying more color over the top. The heat tool also helps with creating those fun pools of ink!

The butterfly and sentiment were stamped and white embossed on vellum creating a light and airy feel.

Thanks for joining me today — I’d love to hear your favorite way to create a watercolor look!

I LOVE this card! The layered, embossed vellum butterfly is soooo gorgeous on top of the watercolor background. Thanks for the dauber idea. I usually use real watercolors or Twinks, or use the shaving cream technique to come up with a watercolor look background.
